Bio

Carlos Villalobos is in his second year as an assistant coach at Santa Fe College. The previous year he was the head boys’ varsity basketball coach at Cornerstone Academy in Gainesville, FL and guided Cornerstone to its first district win in school history. In 2012 he was a volunteer assistant at Santa Fe College under current Head Coach Chris Mowry.

Villalobos comes to Santa Fe after a four year stint as the boys head varsity basketball coach at P.K. Yonge high school in Gainesville, FL. During that period he guided P.K Yonge to four sweet 16 appearances, three district championships, and a state championship game in 2008, where they eventually lost to future Kentucky star and current NBA player Brandon Knight who played at Pine Crest High School. In 2008 he was named the Gainesville Sun’s coach of the year and North Central Florida Coach of the Year. During his four years as Head Coach at P.K. Yonge; his record was 88-31. From 2002-2007, he was the associate head coach at P.K. Yonge and was part of two state finals runner up finishes in 2003 and 2007. Over the past 7 years he has been part of the Adidas’ sponsored Florida Elite AAU basketball program, as either a head coach or assistant coach.

Villalobos graduated from the University of Florida in 2000 with a degree in political science. He is married to the former Ms. Shannon Outman.
