Palatka, FL – All good things must come to an end as the Santa Fe Saints found out on Friday afternoon in Palatka, as they fell to the St. John's River State College Vikings 10-4, ending their nine game win streak.
The Vikings used a four run first and a five run third to pull away early, leading 9-2 through three innings.
The Saints scored a run in the fifth and another in the sixth to chip away at the lead, but would get no closer.
Mitch Campion started on the hill and took the loss, allowing four runs without recording an out. Tyler Moore pitched four solid innings in relief, allowing just one run, and Colt Mink threw a scoreless inning.
Brock Edge had a pair of hits and a RBI and Garrett Mathes and Cade Westbrook drove in one run each.
The NJCAA #1 Saints (23-5, 4-1 MFC) and the Vikings will play the third game of their series in Gainesville on Saturday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m.
