Anthony Arguelles threw a no-hitter in the nightcap after Connor Churchill and Garrett McCranie combined for a four-hit shutout in the opener as the Saints swept South Florida State College 9-0, 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.

"Our pitchers continue to do a great job," said SF Head Coach Johnny Wiggs. "Two shutouts is special and Arguelles' no-hitter was a work of art. He threw all his pitches anywhere in the count and kept them off balance."

The Saints (7-1) have tossed four shutouts as a team in the eight games they have played.

In the first game, the Saints broke a scoreless tie in the fifth when Caleb Stafford and Parker Biederer led off with singles and moved up on a walk to Garrett Mathes. Brock Edge then connected for a two-run double putting SF up 2-0. The Saints put the game away when they scored seven more times in the sixth.

Churchill (2-0) went six innings allowing three hits and a walk while striking out seven to earn the win.  "Connor did a great job of hanging zero's and the offense came alive in the fifth and sixth, "said Wiggs.

Kyler Marquis had three hits for the Saints while Mathes and Edge had two apiece with Edge driving in four runs.

Mathes got things started early for the Saints in game two when launched a one-out solo home run far beyond the right field fence. The run turned out to be the only run scored by either team in the game as Arguelles and Pierson Lewis locked up in a pitcher's duel.

Arguelles (1-0) dropped his earned run average to 2.65 with the no-hitter and the Saints team ERA dropped to 1.00 for the year.

Mathes had two hits in the game and four on the day.

The Saints will host Tallahassee Monday with the first pitch scheduled for 3 pm.
