March 14, 2021
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe baseball bounced back in a big way from a narrow loss at St. Johns River on Saturday, dominating Florida State College at Jacksonville by a final score of 20-1 in five innings on Sunday afternoon.
The 20 runs were the most scored by SF since Feb. 27, 2020 in a win over TNXL Academy, and the most runs against an NJCAA opponent since Feb. 16, 2015 in a 20-4 result over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Santa Fe scored seven runs in the first inning and six runs in the second to grab a 13-0 lead.
FSCJ's lone run came in the second inning, but the Blue Wave had no chance of keeping pace with the Saints' bats. SF produced five more runs in the third frame and a run in both the fourth and fifth innings to reach 20.
The Saints have now won eight of their last nine games, and improved to 5-1 in Mid-Florida Conference play with the road win.

Wiggs' Words
"It was great to get the offense that we got today, but more importantly, we didn't have to use a lot of pitching," said Head Coach Johnny Wiggs. "With all of the games still coming up, that was huge."
