GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe Baseball made the jump to No. 13 in the NJCAA Division I Poll on Monday, and then had no trouble with visiting Daytona State in a 10-0 result in six innings played.
It didn't take long for the Saints to grab control, after a three-run, no doubter from Luis Rodriguez cleared the left field fence in the bottom of the first inning.
Starter Mitchell Gross compiled five strikeouts in the game's first three innings, and proceeded to get himself out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth inning with his sixth K.

Santa Fe would break it open in the bottom half of the inning with six runs to go ahead 9-0. Santiago Garavito led off with a solo shot, then the bases eventually worked their way loaded. Tyler Shelnut was plunked to bring across the fifth run, then Dylan Mock walked for the sixth. With two outs, Bret Madren's double cleared the bases and handed the Saints the 9-0 lead.
