Baseball's McKee Intends to Attend Florida Gulf Coast University
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Outfielder Jake McKee of Santa Fe College Baseball has made a commitment to attend Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla.
McKee is from Fort Myers and attended Estero High School, so his commitment to FGCU will allow him to play baseball in his hometown after competing for two seasons with the Saints as a transfer from Flagler College.
In 2022, McKee appeared in 43 games. He scored 27 runs on the year, and accounted for 12 extra-base hits with eight doubles, two triples, and two home runs. His 25 RBI ranked No. 5 on the team, and he displayed patience at the plate to the tune of 26 walks. His speed allowed him to steal six bases and cover ground defensively in the outfield.
FGCU Baseball is coached by Dave Tollett. The Eagles currently hold a 34-22 mark overall and 17-13 record in the ASUN Conference. McKee will be joining a former teammate from the Saints, Luis Rodriguez.
McKee is now the ninth baseball commitment to be announced on santafesaints.com, with the list available below.
