Chappell and Book Thriving in Florida Collegiate Summer League
LAKE MARY, Fla. - Santa Fe College baseball pitchers Chase Chappell and Gaven Book made the list for the Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game.

Chappell currently holds a 2-1 record on the mound for DeLand, and was chosen as a reserve for the East team. In his 19.1 innings pitched, the right-handed hurler from Greensboro, N.C. and Bloomingdale High School has struck out 14 hitters. As a freshman for the Saints in the historic 2023 season, Chappell was solid out of the SF bullpen with three wins and an ERA of just 2.20.
Book is an alternate for the West for his play for the Winter Garden Squeeze, who are currently in third place in the league standings. The right-handed pitcher from Orlando, Fla. and Olympia High School was also named to the team in 2022 during his first season with the Squeeze. He has made 23 appearances for the Saints in his two seasons in Gainesville.
The All-Star Game will take place on Thursday, July 13th at Sanford Memorial Stadium. During the afternoon, there will be a private scout showcase for the All-Stars and other selected invitees.
The Florida Collegiate Summer League (Florida League) is a wood bat baseball league with six teams in Central Florida. Founded in 2003, the Florida League provides a valuable opportunity for college players to play wood bat baseball against top-level competition with the goal of preparing them for a career in professional baseball.
