April 8, 2021
OCALA, Fla. – Santa Fe softball took the short trip down I-75 to take on No. 5 College of Central Florida, trying to make up some ground atop the Mid Florida Conference standings. The Saints came up short in both games, however, as they could not keep up with the hot bats and aggressive base running of the Patriots.
Game 1 – CF 13, SF 5 (5 INN.)
Madison Dixon got the Saints started when she jacked a two-run shot over the left field wall.
The Patriots would methodically chip their way back into it eventually taking the lead in the bottom of the third inning, 3-2.

The Patriots would respond with a huge fourth inning, scoring five runs and taking control of the game, 8-3.
The Saints would get two of those runs back in the fifth inning when Neely Peterson smacked a double, scoring Grace Prom who was hit by a pitch in the previous at bat. A sac fly from Ashlyn Rogers, combined with a wild throw would score Peterson, but that was as close as it would get.
