Peterson Tabbed Region 8 Player of the Week for Second Time
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - For the second time this season, Neely Peterson of Santa Fe Softball has been voted as the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week.
The FCSAA release is included below. Peterson helped the Saints to a 3-2 record from April 5 - April 11, which included a win over No. 19 Seminole State College.
The catcher continued to swing a hot bat, and had 11 hits in her 16 at-bats for a .688 average on the week. Peterson was particularly impressive in a road sweep of FSCJ, when se went 5-of-6 with two homers and nine RBI.
In total for the week, Peterson contributed 11 RBI, five runs scored, three doubles, and three home runs.
She is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, and is batting .362 on the season with a sizzling .481 mark in Mid-Florida Conference play. Her 29 RBI rank second on the team.
Additionally, Peterson currently ranks No. 6 in the FCSAA with ten home runs on the season, which leads the team.
