Gainesville, FL – The 2016-17 season was successful on the courts and diamonds for the Santa Fe Saints, with all five finishing with winning records, four making their FCSAA State Tournament, and two won their Mid-Florida Conference titles.  The real success however, came in the classroom.  A record 15 Saints were named Academic All-Americans and 44 student athletes overall were honored for their academic work.

All five sports had a representative on the All-American teams.

First Team Academic All-American (4.00 GPA): Paola Flores (Softball), Caylee Cox (Volleyball), and Ashley Lanoue (Volleyball)

Second Team Academic All-American (3.80-3.99 GPA): Kyle Morton (Baseball), Jakob Dawkins (Men's Basketball), Sean Flood (Men's Basketball), Meghan Thomson (Volleyball), and Morgan Sams (Women's Basketball)

Third Team Academic All-American (3.60-3.79 GPA): Shelby West (Softball), Meagan Irish (Volleyball), Tina Mayberry (Volleyball), Sheyanne Sullivan (Volleyball), Adriana Alises (Women's Basketball), Tatiyana Rock (Women's Basketball), and Corey Staples (Women's Basketball).

Honorees on the FCSAA State All-Academic team:

Women's Basketball - Adriana Alises, Evelina Avleeva, Arianna Emanuel-Wright, Tabitha Odabe, Tatiyana Rock, Morgan Sams, Gryselle Sepulveda, and Corey Staples. Men's Basketball – Jakob Dawkins, Lazar Djurovic, Sean Flood, Josh Hawkins.  Volleyball – Caylee Cox, Kaylee Herring, Meagan Irish, Ashley Lanoue, Tina Mayberry, Sheyanne Sullivan, Meghan Thomson, Nadine Williams.  Fastpitch – Elizabeth Benson, Cindy Benson, Paola Flores, Bailee Moll, Shelby West.
