Clearwater, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (4-1) led 3-0 early on against St. Petersburg College, but a nine run rally by the Titans would prove to be more than enough for SPC to end the Saints four game winning streak to start 2015.
SF put three runs on the board in the fourth inning to go ahead 3-0 on RBI singles by Cliff Bryant, Chandler Rodriguez, and Jonah Girand.
St. Pete tied the score in the bottom of the inning, and then pulled away in the fifth with six runs, helped by five Santa Fe errors. Only one of the six runs was earned.
Austin Goss started on the hill and took the tough luck loss, moving him to 1-1 on the season.
The Saints will attempt to get back in the win column on Saturday, February 7 against South Florida State College. The two teams will play a double header starting at noon.
