Johnson Improves to 7-1 as Saints Roll Past FSC-J 13-2
Jacksonville, FL – The NJCAA #9 Santa Fe Saints took the second game of a three game series with Florida State College-Jacksonville on Friday afternoon, defeating the Blue Wave in mercy rule fashion for the second game in a row, 13-2 in seven innings.

Jacksonville, FL – The NJCAA #9 Santa Fe Saints took the second game of a three game series with Florida State College-Jacksonville on Friday afternoon, defeating the Blue Wave in mercy rule fashion for the second game in a row, 13-2 in seven innings.
Trent Johnson was solid again on the mound, striking out eight over six innings to improve his record to a team best 7-1.
The SF offense exploded for 13 runs on 16 hits, finishing with a batting average of .457 against Blue Wave pitching.
They scored one in the first before falling behind 2-1, but it was the last lead FSC-J would have. The Saints (24-7, 10-3 MFC) scored on in the second to tie it up at 2-2 and then added two in the fifth, five in the sixth, and four in the seventh.
Michael Ray tossed a scoreless seventh inning to secure the win via run rule.
Cliff Bryant had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI, Matt Allen was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and a RBI, Jared Shouppe was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI, Nick Horvath finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored out of the lead-off spot, and Robbie Hanlon was 2-for-3 with two runs scored
