Rodriguez Five RBI Day Leads SF Past Seminole State, 13-5
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints put up double digit runs for the fifth game in a row, defeating Seminole State 13-5 with the help of a big six run eighth inning. Trent Johnson (8-1, 2.20 ERA) started on the hill and earned his eighth win of the season, working seven inning with seven strikeouts.

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints put up double digit runs for the fifth game in a row, defeating Seminole State 13-5 with the help of a big six run eighth inning. Trent Johnson (8-1, 2.20 ERA) started on the hill and earned his eighth win of the season, working seven inning with seven strikeouts.
Despite a fifth inning Nick Horvath homerun, the Saints (27-7, 14-3 MFC) trailed 4-3 heading into the seventh inning, but put a two spot on the score board to retake a 5-4 lead on a two run RBI single by Chandler Rodriguez. In the eighth the first seven batters reached base for Santa Fe. Mike Castilla, Nick Horvath and Rodriguez each drove in runs before the Raiders recorded their first out of the inning, expanding the lead to 9-4. Matt Allen and Tyler Kinney drove in a run each later in the inning and the Saints headed to the bottom of the eighth with an 11-4 advantage.
Seminole put one run up in the bottom of the inning, and in the top of the ninth Rodriguez continued his hot day, driving in Robbie Hanlon with a RBI double, and Jared Shouppe followed him up with a RBI single for the final run of the game.
Rodriguez paced the offense going 3-for-6 with a double and five RBI, Horvath was 2-for-5 with a homerun, three runs scored, and two RBI, Matt Allen was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Jared Shouppe, Cole Parks and Tyler Kinney had two hits each. Santa Fe had 14 hits as a team.
