Saints Split DH with Indian River
Gainesville, FL – Indian River State College rallied from two down in the seventh inning to capture game one of a double header with the Santa Fe Saints (12-6) on Saturday in Ft. Pierce to take the first game of a double header before SF bounced back in game two to force a split.

Gainesville, FL – Indian River State College rallied from two down in the seventh inning to capture game one of a double header with the Santa Fe Saints (12-6) on Saturday in Ft. Pierce to take the first game of a double header before SF bounced back in game two to force a split.
The Saints led 5-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning of a seven inning game. The Pioneers cut into the lead with two runs in the sixth, and completed their comeback in the seventh with three runs, walking off with the win. The come from behind victory spoiled a good start for freshman Mitch Campion. Campion went six innings, allowing three runs while striking out a career high 11.
Game two played out much as the first game did with the Saints grabbing an early 3-0 lead in the first. Stephen Smith Bo Seccombe, and Danny DiMare had back to back to back hits to put the three runs on the board.
Santa Fe added an insurance run in the fourth on a Pioneer error and it proved to be an important one. In the bottom of the third IRSC plated three runs to cut the deficit to 4-3.
Anthony Auletta closed the door for the Saints from there, tossing three innings of shutout ball to earn the save. Ricky Miranda earned the win with four innings of two run ball.
The Saints will be back at it on the road Monday at Polk State College at 3:00 PM.
