Baseball's Rogers to Continue Career at Missouri State University
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Jahlani Rogers of Santa Fe College Baseball is on his way to Springfield, Mo. to attend Missouri State University.
Rogers is from St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and prior to SF, he attended East Ridge High School and Florida Gulf Coast University. At SF, he obtained his Associate in Arts (AA) degree.
2023 was his first season with the Saints, and he was the starter from Day 1 in center field. Rogers earned All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team honors. His batting average was .298, and he held quality numbers in OBP (.445) and slugging percentage (.545). With 53 hits, 47 runs, 15 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, and 49 RBI, Rogers made significant contributions with the bat. Rogers also led the Saints in walks (40) and stolen bases (11), and amongst other season highlights, Rogers accounted for the walk-off triple in the tenth inning of a 6-5 win over then No. 1-ranked College of Central Florida on March 24. Rogers' excellent speed and fielding recently helped him earn his spot on the All-NJCAA Region 8 Gold Glove Team. Missouri State University Baseball is coached by Keith Guttin, who began his head coaching career with the Bears in 1983. Guttin entered the 2023 season third among active Division I head coaches and 16th overall in career victories (1,340). The Bears compete in the Missouri Valley Conference of NCAA Division I.
