Herrholz's Bat Set to Join Georgia Southern Baseball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - JP Herrholz of Santa Fe College Baseball, an All-FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Second Team selection and All Mid-Florida Conference First Team honoree, has committed to continue his collegiate career at Georgia Southern University.
Herrholz is from Miami, Fla. and prior to SF, he attended Christopher Columbus High School.
2023 was his second season of play with the Saints, after making contributions as a redshirt freshman and being a part of the Mid-Florida Conference All-Academic Team in 2022. In 2023, Herrholz was an everyday starter at first base and at the middle of the lineup. Herrholz provided a steady bat for the Saints, and showed the knack for bringing runs across when needed most. His team-high 67 RBI ranked No. 3 in the FCSAA and No. 24 in the NJCAA, while his .314 average came along with 11 doubles, a triple, and a team-high 12 home runs. Herrholz also boasted a .436 on-base percentage and .594 alugging percentage.
Georgia Southern University Baseball is coached by Rodney Hennon, who is in the midst of his 24th season with the program having won over 800 games with the Eagles. Former Saint Mitchell Gross is also a pitcher for the Eagles, who compete in the Sun Belt Conference of NCAA Division I.
