Auburndale, FL.- On Saturday, the Santa Fe Baseball team played its second game of the season. Santa Fe won the contest 4-0 as they defeated Florida SouthWestern State College. The Saints improve to 2-0 on the season.
How It Happened
Justin Jackson started out on the mound for the Saints. He recorded five innings pitched with only one hit and struck out nine. Caleb Rice was called on in relief and pitched two innings with no hits and two strikeouts.
Javier Soto and Zach Dejesus each garnered a hit.
Santa Fe had a total of two hits and four walks in the game while the Buccaneers of FSW recorded only one hit.
The Saints scored two runs in the second inning, one in the third inning, and one in the fourth. The stellar defense of the Saints was enough to shut out the Pirates.
