Beasley to Play Softball at FAMU
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After two seasons with the Santa Fe Saints softball team, Cris'Deona Beasley has signed to continue her academic and athletic career with the FAMU Rattlers.
FAMU has been a 39-year member of the Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), but will be moving into the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) as of July 1, 2021. Head Coach Constance Orr is entering her second season as head coach with the program.
Beasley, the Live Oak, Florida and Columbia High School graduate, primarily pitched for the Saints this season, appearing in 26 games, starting in 18. She also spent time as an outfielder and played in 35 games in total.
From the circle she claimed All-Mid Florida Conference First Team honors, earned FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week twice, and NJCAA Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 17.
In 113 innings pitched, Beasley amassed 123 strikeouts on the season to rank No. 4 in the FCSAA. She posted an ERA of 3.47 and held a 13-7 record with 12 complete games, one shutout, and one save.
From the batter's box she hit for a .325 average with 26 hits in her 80 at-bats. Beasley finished with nine doubles while scoring 13 runs and batting in 12.
As a freshman in 2020, Cris'Deona Beasley appeared on the mound 18 times, starting on 12 occasions. She posted a 7-4 record with four complete games, pitching in 72 total innings. She had 66 strikeouts and held an ERA of 3.99.
