Softball Splits Doubleheader at FSCJ, Taking Game One 8-2
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In the season's first doubleheader on the road at Florida State College at Jacksonville, Santa Fe College softball took the opening game 8-2, before the Blue Wave salvaged a split with a 6-4 win in Game 2.
GAME 1 – SF 8, FSCJ 2
The Saints raced out to an 8-1 lead after the first four innings in the day's opener, and Kensley Durrance shut the door from the circle to pick up her first pitching win as a Saint.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
The Saints' four runs in the third inning helped create the sizeable gap, and a two-RBI double from Riley Schnyder highlighted the frame.
TEAM COMPARISON
SF had 13 hits to just five for FSCJ.
The only two errors in the game were made by the Blue Wave.

The Saints found themselves in an early hole, allowing four runs in the opening inning, and then FSCJ produced the final two runs in the fourth to separate and go on for the win on its home field.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
A one-out, two-run homer from FSCJ leadoff hitter Harley Guynn in the fourth inning proved to provide the game-winning runs.
TEAM COMPARISON
SF was out hit in this one, 9-6, and was unable to have any extra-base hits.
FSCJ had three errors, while SF had two.
