Softball Gets Past Eastern Florida Twice to Sweep Season-Series
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe College softball (19-11) swept the four-game season series with Eastern Florida State College (11-19) on Tuesday afternoon, narrowly getting past the Titans in Game 1 before pitching a shutout in Game 2…
GAME 1 – SF 5, EFSC 4
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
The Saints looked to have their backs against the wall in the seventh inning, after the Titans took a 4-2 lead in the top half…
With one-out already recorded and no baserunners on, Juliann Smith hit a pop-up to the infield near the first base line, and Titans' pitcher Trinity Howard dropped the opportunity to earn the second-out, giving the Saints new life.
SF took advantage of the error and things started to unravel a bit for Howard and the Titans, as a hit was sandwiched between two walks. Riley Schnyder's free-pass scored a run to make it 4-3, then Sydnee Fowler drove in the game-tying run with a line drive single to center field.
With one out and the bases loaded, Abrianna Hickox had a pitch graze off her arm, bringing home the winning run in Jayelyn Carter.

The Titans had six hits, while SF finished with four.
EFSC was charged with two errors, while the Saints had one.
All the Titans hits were singles, while SF had home runs from Story Giebeig and Hickox.
