No. 16 Daytona State Wins in Volleyball Action, 3-1
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Santa Fe College Volleyball traveled to face No. 16 Daytona State College on Saturday afternoon, and the host Falcons were able to turn the match around to knock off the Saints, 24-26, 25-23, 25-9, 25-23.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints fought off a set point in the opening frame when trailing 24-23, and then Cali Conner's tip from the right side for the kill put SF ahead 1-0.
Santa Fe was right there in contention to take a 2-0 lead, but the Falcons closed out Set 2 with a crosscourt kill to the back corner.
The third set was one to forget for the Saints, as Daytona State took the 2-1 lead with a lopsided result.
Set 4 came down to the wire once again, and Larissa Seger-Griebeler had a kill to tie it at 22-22, followed by a block from the middle to put the Saints in front 23-22.
The Falcons took the final three points of the match, however, with the final rally concluding with a kill down the left sideline.
