
McKinley Tosses Complete Game Shutout, Saints Win 2-0
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe pitcher Max McKinley was lights out on Saturday afternoon in the Saints (19-4, 1-0 MFC) Mid-Florida Conference opener, needing just 96 pitches to go the distance. McKinley allowed just two hits and one walk and not a single Florida State College-Jacksonville player reached second base. He set down 20 straight batters starting in the third inning and struck out seven Bluewave players in the game.

McKinley improved his ERA to 2.54 and now has 32 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched against just seven walks.
Andrew Eyster provided all of the SF offense, smashing two deep solo homeruns in the first inning and the sixth, giving him eight on the season. That's all McKinley (3-0) would need to win his third game of the season.
As a team the Saints had nine hits, including three for Cade Westbrook, two for Parker Beiderer, and two for Eyster.
The FCSAA #2/Perfect Game #9 Saints and Bluewave will battle again in Jacksonville on Monday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. and again in Gainesville on Wednesday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m. Mitch Campion will take the hill for SF on Monday and Devin Hemenway will toe the rubber on Wednesday.
