Adams Claims FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Robb Adams of Santa Fe College baseball has been chosen as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
After earning the honor, Adams will automatically be submitted into consideration for the NJCAA Pitcher of the Week award.
Adams had a complete game shutout in a 5-0 result over visiting Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The Stallions only mustered three singles and two walks off Adams, who struck out a season-high eight batters. Adams ended the game appropriately, earning the final out with a swinging third strike.
The freshman lefty from Arcadia, Fla. and DeSoto County High School has been remarkable for the Saints all season long, and has yet to allow an earned run in his four games started and 26.1 innings pitched. The ABAC victory was the second win of the season for Adams, the first complete game for SF this season, and the first shutout of the season for the Saints' pitching staff.
Adams and the Saints will play Hillsborough Community College at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the SF Baseball Field.
