Baseball's Phillips to Join Flagler Baseball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Coy Phillips of Santa Fe Baseball will remain a Saint, and has signed to continue his academic and athletic career with the Flagler College Saints in St. Augustine, Fla.
Flagler College is a member of the Division II Peach Belt Conference and Head Coach David Barnett will be entering his 35th season as Head Coach for the Saints in 2022.
Prior to the start of the 2021 season, Bennett ranked No. 12 in wins among active NCAA Division II coaches. Flagler finished the 2021 campaign with a 17-21 record (16-16 PBC). The Saints were co-champions of the Peach Belt Conference in 2019, which was the first time a Flagler baseball team won or shared a league title.
Phillips, the Inglis, Fla. native and Seven Rivers Christian graduate, was a prominent contributor for Head Coach Johnny Wiggs, helping the Saints to a 33-13 record, Mid-Florida Conference Championship, and runner-up finish at the FCSAA State Tournament.
