Luke Marquis Headed to the University of Fort Lauderdale
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Luke Marquis of Santa Fe College Baseball has made a commitment to attend the University of Fort Lauderdale to continue his academic and baseball career.
Marquis is from Gainesville and attended Gainesville High School before coming to Santa Fe. He has played three seasons for the Saints, totaling 29 hits, 25 RBI, and 20 runs scored.
Perhaps his most impactful season came in 2021, when the Saints concluded the campaign with a 33-13 record, a Mid-Florida Conference Championship with an 18-4 mark in MFC play, and a runner-up finish at the FCSAA State Tournament. That season, Maqruis batted .309 in 22 games played, with ten runs scored and 13 RBI for the Saints' cause.
The University of Fort Lauderdale Baseball is coached by Billy Glesner. The Eagles finished 2022 with a record of 35-27 in the program's inaugural season, and advanced to the National Championship game of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
L. Marquis is now the tenth baseball commitment to be announced on santafesaints.com, which also includes the commitment from his brother Zeb Marquis to attend Montreat College.
