
Baseball's Relaford Chooses Florida Southern
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jevin Relaford of Santa Fe College Baseball has made a commitment to attend Florida Southern College to continue his academic and baseball career.
Relaford completed his third season at SF in 2022, contributing as a Mid-Florida Conference Second Team middle infielder. He played in 50 of the Saints' 51 games, and spent the majority of his time at shortstop while hitting from the leadoff spot.
The Jacksonville, Fla. native ranked third on the team with 56 hits, which included 11 doubles and two triples. He scored 43 runs and drove in 22, adding 31 walks and a team-high 18 stolen bases. Relaford hit safely in eight of the team's final nine contests, and played a part in turning 23 double plays defensively.
Since May of 2012, Florida Southern College Baseball has been coached by former Major-leaguer Lance Niekro. The Mocs finished 2022 with a record of 29-21 overall in NCAA Division II and and 20-10 in the Sunshine State Conference. The program has won the NCAA Division II Championship on nine occasions.
