Jahlani Rogers Claims Baseball Player of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Santa Fe College Baseball is unbeaten through its first 14 games of the 2023 season, and center fielder Jahlani Rogers is a big reason why. Rogers' play for the week of Monday, Feb. 6 has earned him FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week honors.

Rogers is a redshirt sophomore transfer from Florida Gulf Coast University, and he hails from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He is currently batting .373 for the Saints with a .725 slugging percentage, tied for the team lead with four home runs and second in RBI with 19. He ranks in the Top-10 of the nation in a number of offensive categories, including hits, runs, home runs, RBI, and walks.
This past week, Rogers:
- Batted .476 (10-for-21) with seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI and one stolen base in five games
- Hit safely in each game
- Had a go-ahead, two-run homer that provided the winning margin at Hillsborough
- Connected for a walkoff single to cap a 4-for-5, 6-RBI game against Florida State College at Jacksonville
The Saints are off to their best start in program history, currently ranked No. 2 in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll, and hold a record of 14-0 headed into a home game with Hillsborough on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m.
