Season's First Defeat for No. 6 Baseball Comes at Seminole State
SANFORD, Fla. – It took extra-innings and a walk off from Seminole State College to hand No. 6 Santa Fe College Baseball its first loss of the 2023 season, as the Raiders were able to salvage one game in the three-game set with the Saints, winning 3-2.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY…
SF held a 2-1 lead headed into the bottom of the ninth, but the Raiders forced extra-innings with a sacrifice fly and then a walk-off single in the tenth.
A couple of wild pitches in the last two innings proved to be costly, helping Seminole advance runners on the basepaths.
TEAM COMPARISON
There were no errors in the game defensively.
Both starting pitchers performed well on the mound in a game that had small margins…
SF had seven hits, but all were singles. Seminole totaled six hits in the game, with one double.
