No. 2 Baseball Downed 13-5 at Seminole State
SANFORD, Fla. – Not much went well for No. 2 Santa Fe College Baseball (31-3, 7-3 MFC) on Friday at Seminole State College (21-16, 5-6 MFC), as the Raiders won for the third consecutive time over the Saints in the season's five matchups so far…The final score was 13-5 in seven innings played.
The Saints lost back-to-back games for the first time this season and will have a quick-turnaround opportunity to get back into the win column at home on Saturday in Game 3 of the series.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY…
The fourth inning was one to forget for the Saints, as the Raiders brought six runs across to take a 10-1 lead.
Seminole State hit two homers in the inning, had four hits, and benefitted from two SF errors and a hit by pitch.
Although the Saints had a big inning in the fifth with four runs, highlighted by a two-run shot from Grant Gallagher, the deficit proved too much to overcome.
TEAM COMPARISON
The Raiders had 12 hits to just five for SF. Five hits for Seminole went for extra-bases, including three homers.
