No. 2 Baseball Returns the Favor, Run-Rules Seminole 15-4
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The bats were on full display for No. 2 Santa Fe College Baseball (32-3, 8-3) to on Saturday, as the Saints responded well to consecutive losses to Seminole State College (21-17, 5-7 MFC) by taking Game 3 in run-rule fashion, 15-4 in six innings.
With the wind blowing out on the SF Baseball Field, the Saints amassed 14 hits in the shortened game, eight of which went for extra bases.
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY…
The six-run inning in the bottom of the second helped SF set the tone and jump ahead early. With the score tied at 2-2, Hunter Keen had a triple to plate two more, and then he came around to score on an error as well. Josh Hogue followed that wild play up with a no-doubt solo shot, and SF led 6-2…
There was plenty more mashing from the plate through the middle innings, but Zeth Rodriguez put the finishing touches on the game with a first pitch walk-off home run to left field, his fourth HR of the season.
