
Baseball's Jacob Phillips Off to Georgia Southern University
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Jacob Phillips of Santa Fe College Baseball has committed to continue his collegiate career at Georgia Southern University, alongside his teammate JP Herrholz.
Phillips is from Ocala, Fla. and prior to SF, he attended North Marion High School and Northwest Florida State College.
The left-handed pitcher made 13 appearances in 2023 for the Saints, with all of them being a starter from the mound. He held a 5-2 record with 57.2 innings pitched, two complete games, and 54 strikeouts. Phillips' complete games came in wins over South Georgia State College on Feb. 18 and St. Petersburg College on Feb. 25.
Georgia Southern University Baseball is coached by Rodney Hennon, who is in the midst of his 24th season with the program having won over 800 games with the Eagles. Former Saint Mitchell Gross is also a pitcher for the Eagles, who compete in the Sun Belt Conference of NCAA Division I.
