
Saints Defeat the Ducks in Extra Innings
Gainesville, FL- On Wednesday, the Saints faced off against TNXL Academy at home after going undefeated in their recent tournament in Auburndale, FL. They won in extra innings 9-8. The Saints improved to 4-0.
How It Happened
Nick Davidson started on the mound for the Saints. He pitched three and two-thirds innings with one earned run, one hit, and five strikeouts. The Saints utilized their bullpen for the remainder of the game using Macklin Miller, Travis Mabin, Anthony Scarpino, Lucas Johns, Colby Rice, and Kristoffer Blanks who ultimately received the win.
Offensively, the Saints earned nine hits and seven RBIs. Leading hitters of the game included Wyatt Campbell (three hits), AJ Barrios (two hits), and Grant Gallagher (two hits). The Saints overcame an 8-5 deficit in the bottom of the seventh by scoring three runs to tie the game, leading to extra innings. Ultimately, AJ Barrios hit the walk-off sacrifice fly, bringing in Cory Filley to score the winning run in the 11th inning.
