
Filley goes to Florida Southern
Santa Fe Saints catcher Cory Filley has signed with the Florida Southern Moccasins

Sophomore Cory Filley is headed to Lakeland, FL to join Saints teammate Colby Rice and continue his collegiate baseball career with the Florida Southern Moccasins.
Originally from Dade City, Florida, Cory Filley played varsity baseball for Pasco High School, later signing to Santa Fe College where he played both his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Saints. As the Saints primary catcher for the 2024 season, Filley played in 45 games registering 33 RBIs, 31 runs, a batting average of .291 as well as three stolen bases. Filley has been outstanding behind the plate as well, posting a stellar .991 fielding percentage, third highest on the team.
Florida Southern is a NCAA Division II school that competes in the Sunshine State Conference. They are coached by skipper Rick O'Dette, who brings in 24 years of DII head coaching experience previously coaching at St. Joseph's College (IN.) and St. Leo's University, earning over 700 career wins. Last season, the Mocs finished 18-30 (.375) and 12-18 in conference. Florida Southern baseball are nine-time NCAA DII national champions, with their most recent championship won in 2005.
