
Saints fall to Miami-Dade in 7 Innings
Santa Fe made the road trip down to Miami Dade for a 2:30 start of their first of three conference games vs. the Sharks this week.

Santa Fe couldn't keep up with Miami Dade and drops the Thursday game by a score of 15-6 in 7 innings. The Saints were the first ones on the board after both Robert Nedry and Ryan Chase drove in runs in the first inning. The Saints also put two runs on the board in the second inning, but a single run tallied in each frame by Miami Dade held the score at 4-2 after two innings of play. Miami Dade took control of the game after a five run inning in the third, as they scored those five runs off of six hits to lead 7-5. The Shark bats continued to stay hot in the fourth inning as they tallied seven runs off of only three hits to extend their lead to 14-5. Each team added another run in the 6th inning but the game reached the run-rule midway through the seventh inning with the score 15-6 favoring Miami Dade.
Nick Staszak earned the start for Santa Fe, and ultimately recieved the loss after throwing 2.1 innings while allowing 7 runs off of 8 hits and striking out two. Robert Nedry and Zack Dejesus headlined the Saints bats, collecting two hits apiece. The Santa Fe pitching staff allowed 15 hits and will look clean up their defense (six errors) on Saturday, March 8th when the two meet again in Gainesville for a 12:00 first pitch of a doublehader.
