
Saints Beat FSCJ in 11 Innings
Santa Fe traveled to Duval County for the midweek nonconference action.

Santa Fe used a big eleventh inning to take the 7-4 win over Florida State College at Jacksonville. The Saints were the first to score in the ball game with a two-run top of the first inning. However, FSCJ struck for two in the bottom of the first and bottom of the second inning to take the 4-2 lead. A solo run in both the fourth and fifth innings were the only scoring in the final six innings of regulation. FSCJ had a chance in the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded and nobody out, before Dylan Lovelace shut the door to send the game to extra innings. Santa Fe scored three runs in the top of the eleventh to pull over the 7-4 victory.
Brady Wright received the ball and the start going 2.0 innings allowing two hit and four runs (two earned runs). Wright walked three and struck out two. Mitchell Marlowe came into the game in the third inning. Marlowe had his best outing of the season with 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just one hit. Erik Blair came into pitch the next 0.2 innings, walking just one batter before Dylan Lovelace went 3.1 innings allowing one hit and striking out two. Maddox Lee and Coner Brown both had two runs batted in. Brown pinch hit in the top of the eleventh inning driving in the insurance runs in his one plate appearance. Lee was 2-5 with the runs batted in. Ryan Chase went 2-5 scoring two runs and walking once.
The Saints are back in action at home on Thursday versus Seminole State College to start the three game conference series.
