
Saints Bats Stay Hot in Series Sweep

The Saints fell behind 8-0 after half an inning but were able to find their offensive stride to will 11-9. St. Petersburg College scored eight runs in the top of the first to jump out to a comfortable lead. The Saints responded with three runs in the home half. The Tians added one more run, their final run of the game in the top of the second to push their lead to six. Santa Fe then scored two in the second inning, one in the third, four in the fourth, and one on the fifth to take an 11-9 lead. The score stuck for another inning and a half as the Saints picked up the series win.
Javier Soto had three hits in his second game back from injury, scoring three runs and driving one run home. Robert Nedry and Trey Freeman both had two hits. Nedry drove one run in, while Freeman drove two runs home. Erik Blair was 1-2 with two RBI. Lucas Johns got the start, going just 0.2 innings begore Macklin Miller took over. Miller went 4.1 innings allowing six hits, but just three runs (one earned run). Miller struck out four. Stephen Joyce picked up a six out save striking one out and walking one.
In game two, it was all Santa Fe from the jump. Santa Fe scored one run in the second inning, two runs in the third inning and four in the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead. St. Pete hit a two-run homerun to cut the deficit to five. The Saints then added four more in the fifth to take an 11-2 lead which stuck as SF run-ruled the Titans.
Matthew Pagan started and threw a complete game. Pagan allowed four hits, two runs, while striking out three and walking just one. At the dish it was the top of the lineup having a field day. Freeman, Nedry, Ryan Chase, Blair, and Tucker Hansen all had multi-hit performances. Nedry drove in four runs while hitting a homerun over the right field fence. Aiden Andreu hit a solo homerun, his first longball of his college career. Blair drove in three runs, while Chase drove home two.
The Saints are back in action on Thursday in Gainesville versus Hillsborough Community College.
