Lake Worth, FL – Santa Fe sophomore Morris Marshall led the Saints (3-0) past an always talented Palm Beach State College team on Friday evening, scoring 20 points to pace a balanced SF offensive attack.
Marshall nailed three three pointers in the first half and finished with 15 points over the first 20 minutes to help stake the Saints to a 39-30 halftime lead. He would finish with 20 on the night.
The first half was back and forth until about the eight minute mark when Santa Fe turned a 25-25 tie in a nine point advantage at the break.
The Panthers trimmed the lead in the second half to as few as six, but the Saints answered each time, building a 10 point lead with four minutes to play. Palm Beach began fouling over the final few minutes and SF made their free throws down the stretch to win by 20.
Allen Baez finished with a season high 17 points, Andre Horne had 11, and Vosean Crumbie had 10.
The Saints will continue on the road on Saturday when they play Broward College at 2:00 PM in Lake Worth.
