Tampa, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (4-3) led throughout the first half, but saw their lead evaporate in the second period on Tuesday night as they fell to Hillsborough CC 63-58 in Tampa.
The Hawks scored just 23 points in the first half and trailed 29-23, but bounded back for 40 in the second period to pick up the five point win. HCC was paced by five three pointers in the second half.
"We turned it over far too many times and we have to play with more composure on offense," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "We didn't make our free throws in the second half. All of those things make a difference in the end. We have to get better at the little things."
Allen Baez led Santa Fe with 12 points and Michael Sanchez and Morris Marshall had nine each.
The Saints will be back on the court tomorrow, Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 PM against IMG Academy at home.
