Jacksonville, FL – Florida State College-Jacksonville picked up their first Mid-Florida Conference win on Wednesday evening, defeating the Santa Fe Saints 94-82.
"Jacksonville played very well and we were very poor defensively," said SF Coach Chris Mowry. "Whether it was defending shooters, defending on the interior, or boxing out, we did nothing close to good on defense."
The SF offense wasn't an issue as the Saints scored 84 points on 52.5% shooting from the field. A major issue for the Saints however came on the defensive glass where SF allowed 18 offensive rebounds and 21 second chance points to the Blue Wave.
Morris Marshall led Santa Fe scorers with 22 points, Michael Sanchez had 20, and Allen Baez 14.
The Saints will play their regular season finale on Saturday, February 21 against Daytona State College at 4:00 PM.
