Saints Secure Win Against Hawks 69-67
Saint's men's basketball team rallied for a late half run to snatch a road win against the Hillsborough Community College Hawks 69-67 on Tuesday, November 5.
Leading for the first half of the contest 36-22, the Saints were outpaced in the second half as the Hawks chipped away at the deficit and eventually took the lead with six minutes to go, 60-52.
Saints head coach Chris Mowry said, "We finally got some stops and defensive rebounds, and executed and finished plays on the offensive end." He continued, "This allowed us to come out on top."
With the team having to battle back to reclaim the lead, it allowed the team to regroup and focus and work together for the victory.
"I'm proud of our team for finding a way to come out on top," Mowry stated.
The team effort saw balanced scoring led by Jay Medor with 13 points. Nikola Jerotic and Josiah Tynes had 12 points each.
The Saints (2-0, 0-0 MFC) travel to Winter Haven, Florida to take on Polk State College on Saturday, November 9 for a 2 p.m. game.
