Men's Basketball Scores in Bunches at Pasco-Hernando, 108-84
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Santa Fe College Men's Basketball improved to 5-1 with one of the more dominant offensive outings so far this season, crossing over the century mark in a 108-84 victory at Pasco-Hernando State College.
First Half – SF 50, PHSC 40
After Santa Fe jumped out to a 7-2 start, each side went back-and-forth with shot making in an up-tempo opening half.
The Saints led by one, 30-29, with about six minutes remaining in the half. SF then began an 11-4 run to establish a 41-33 lead. All five baskets during the stretch of play came from inside the painted area.
After the Bobcats had cut their deficit to just five, SF scored seven straight to gain their biggest advantage of the half, 48-36, and the double-digit lead held until the half.
Second Half – SF 108, PHSC 84
The Saints set the tone early to widen the gap with back-to-back three-pointers from Nicolas McClain and Bradley Douglas
The hosts drew to as close as six points, 58-52, but that would prove to be as close as they would come to the Saints the rest of the way.
Pasco-Hernando had no answers for Santa Fe's size and ball movement on the offensive end, and the Saint's offense kept humming no matter how many different rotations took to the floor.
By the end of the night, every Santa Fe player had produced a bucket to help the Saints to a season-high 108 points.
