Men's Basketball Shoots Lights Out to Beat FSCJ, 105-49
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe men's basketball throttled Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon, sinking 18-of-31 attempts from beyond the arc to pass the century mark and more than double up the Blue Wave in a 105-49 Central Conference win.
With the win, the Saints moved to 14-0 on their home floor in 2021-2022.
First Half – SF 46, FSCJ 26
Santa Fe knocked in 9 of their game's 18 triples in the first half to open up the 20-point advantage.
Leading 16-14 at the half's midway point, the Saints rattled off the next 14 points. 12 of those points came via the long ball, two of which were from Douglas.
Douglas, the reigning FCSAA Player of the Week, paced SF with 13 points after the first 20 minutes. With the healthy lead established, Douglas was able to call it a night and watch his teammates continue to thrive in the second half.
Second Half – SF 105, FSCJ 49
The Saints were dominant on both ends, outscoring FSCJ 59-23.
SF went on a 16-0 run during one stretch of play and continued to shoot the lights out from beyond the arc.
The 56-point lead at the final horn was the game's largest, as the SF reserves came right into the contest and controlled the game in all facets.

The 58 percent shooting from behind the arc was a season-best clip, and with the 18 triples, the Saints flirted with the program-record of 20 for the second time this season, after making 19 against Hillsborough on Dec. 1.
Paint points were also heavily in favor of SF, 42-14, while the bench outproduced FSCJ's 62-6.
For the SF starters, Douglas had 13 points and Nasir Mann added 12.
Season-high point totals came from three reserves in Giovanni Baerga-Uselis (18), G'Shan Aldridge (16), and Jaren Phillips (13). Baerga Uselis was particularly impressive from deep, going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc.
