Saints Fall To Titans
Melbourne, FL- On Tuesday, the Saints traveled to the spacecoast to face the #13 nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College after playing the #3 nationally ranked Daytona State College last Saturday. The Titans jumped out early and controlled the game from start to finshed then went on to defeat the Saints 92-61.
How It Happened
The Titans jumped out to an early lead (22-8) over the Saints by the 10:00 mark. Karmello Branch cut the lead down to 12 points after making a contested layup in the lane (28-16). Johnathan Renois cut the lead down to 10 points as he made a tough one-handed floater from the left side of the basket. The Saints continued to fight hard as Karmelo Branch created a steal from behind and and Pedrag Panisic secured the basket.
Santa Fe hurt themselves with 10 turnovers before the break. The Titans shot the ball really well in the first half. They hit seven three point shots and jumped out to a 40-26 lead by the end of the half.
In the second half the Titans continued to roll as the Saints fought to keep up. Owen Aquino led the offensive attack for the Titans scoring 13 points in the second half (19 points total). Karmelo Branch hit three triples in the second half. He was the leading scorer for the Saints. Tre Munson also made two triples in the second half.
The Titans outscored the Saints 52-35 in the second half. In the end, an unrelenting Eastern Florida team won out against a tough Santa Fe basketball team with a final score of 92-61.
