Bio

Ryan Rodriguez was named assistant coach for the Santa Fe College men’s basketball team in September of 2019.

Since then, Rodriguez's responsibilities have primarily included on-court development of guards and academic oversight of players. He recently completed his fourth season with the Saints in 2022-2023.

In 2021-2022, Rodriguez was part of a staff that helped guide the Saints to a 24-6 record, an undefeated home record, a Centrol Conference title (the program's first conference crown since 2012), and an appearance at the FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII State Tournament. The Saints reached as high as No. 18 in the NJCAA Division I poll, were present or receiving votes in several other polls, and were consistently ranked within the Top-5 of the highly competitive FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII Coaches' Poll. Head Coach Chris Mowry was named the Central Conference Coach of the Year, a testament to the work of the entire coaching staff and the student-athletes.

In his time at Santa Fe, Rodriguez has helped develop six second team all conference players, five first team all conference players along with a Central Conference Player of the Year, two FCSAA/NJCAA All-Region VIII players, and one NJCAA Third Team All-American in Bradley Douglas (2021-2022).

Prior to SF

Prior to his time at Santa Fe, Rodriguez was a head coach at the prep/post grad level where he coached several Division I players and current NBA player Luguentz Dort. In 2015, Rodriguez was a volunteer assistant for former NBA head coach Micheal Curry at Florida Atlantic University. Rodriguez started as a manager for former head coach Micheal Jarvis in 2011-2012 season before being named video coordinator for the Owls in the 2013-2014 season.
