CLEARWATER, Fla. – Santa Fe College Softball began the day in Clearwater by falling short 5-3 against Parkland Community College in a tightly contested matchup with the Cobras, but the Saints regrouped and dominated in a run-ruled 9-0 victory over South Georgia State College.

GAME 1 – Parkland 5, SF 3

The Saints stormed out to a 3-0 lead through the first four innings, but the game's final five runs belonged to Parkland.

A GAME-CHANGING PLAY

Parkland Community College had a big fourth inning, storming back and taking a 5-3 lead.

The Cobras would keep the lead for the rest of the game, shutting the door on a SF comeback.

TEAM COMPARISON

SF had eight hits compared to Parkland's seven, but the Saints were hurt by four errors.

The Saints jumped all over South Georgia State College, putting up one run in the first and a snowman with eight runs in the second. The pitching staff earned the shutout with just one hit allowed.

A GAME-CHANGING PLAY

Madi Hewitt's two-out, two RBI single in the second frame pushed the lead to nine, enough to shorten the game to five innings.

TEAM COMPARISON

SF had eight hits compared to just the one for South Georgia.

The Saints played more cleanly defensively with only one error.

In the batter's box, the ball was put in play and SF didn't have a single strikeout.
