Softball Hosts Tallahassee, Secures Season's First Sweep

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The first sweep of the 2023 season felt sweet for Santa Fe College softball on Saturday, as the Saints took two from the Tallahassee Eagles on the SF Softball Field.
GAME 1 – SF 3, TCC 1
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
Santa Fe struck first with two runs in the bottom of the second inning, one on a sacrifice fly from Jayelyn Carter and another on a miscue from the TCC first baseman.
Those runs proved to be enough run support starting pitcher Kensley Durrance would need, as she continued to find success from the circle.
TEAM COMPARISON
Santa Fe had six hits, and Tallahassee had four.
Each team struck out from the plate on five occasions.
The Eagles had two errors to just one for SF, and the aforementioned error on an errant throw from the first baseman cost the visitor's a run.

A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
SF opened up a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Schnyder and a two-RBI double to right field from Hickox.
TEAM COMPARISON
The Saints finished with five hits, while TCC only mustered up three.

Each team was regularly on the bases, however, with seven walks issued by each side.
