GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Saturday's softball clash with No. 10 Seminole State and Santa Fe ended in a split, as the Saints were held to a single run in the day's opener before regrouping to take Game 1 by a 6-3 score.
GAME 1 - #10 SEMINOLE 3, SF 1
A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
The Raiders scored two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-0 lead, with the final run coming via a walk.
Santa Fe scored on an RBI single from Madi Hewett in the bottom of the fourth, and the Saints brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the seventh inning.
A strikeout, however, was the second out of the bottom of the seventh, and Seminole got the third out in unusual fashion with a Santa Fe unreported re-entry.
TEAM COMPARISON
Santa Fe had six singles in the game, while Seminole had just four hits with one home run.
Each team had three defensive errors.
The Raiders had four walks while SF had zero, and Seminole State also stole two bases. Jayelyn Carter had the only stolen base for the Saints.

A GAME-CHANGING PLAY
Santa Fe broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run frame in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Two-out hitting was key to the big inning, as Keeli Zingaro had a two-RBI double and Abrianna Hickox an RBI single to make it 6-2.
Seminole made things difficult for the Saints with two-out hitting of their own in the top of the seventh, bringing a run across to make it 6-3.
The bases were loaded with two outs when Abrams entered in relief of Durrance, and Abrams was able to induce a 4-3 groundout to pickup the save.
TEAM COMPARISON
Seminole had nine hits to Santa Fe's eight, but all of the Raiders' knocks were singles.
Seminole also couldn't overcome five defensive errors, while SF committed two.
