Softball Secures Sweep of Daytona State with 5-2 Result on Sunday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe College softball (30-19, 7-8 MFC) secured the sweep of Daytona State College on Sunday, on the strength of a complete game pitching performance from Kensley Durrance and another five runs put up by the bats in a 5-2 result.
GAME-CHANGING PLAYS
Two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings for the Saints helped produce the runs Durrance needed in support of her performance from the circle.
In the fifth, the go-ahead run was bunted home by Story Giebeig, then Sydney Fowler had a sacrifice fly.
Ariana Wright had an RBI single in the sixth to bring the score to 4-1, right before Keeli Zingaro drove in what would be the final run for SF with a sacrifice fly.
With Daytona State down to their final three outs in the bottom of the seventh, Durrance set the hosts down in order.

The Saints finished with 11 hits to six for the Falcons.
There was just one extra-base hit on the day, a double for DSC.
SF did much of its damage with singles, stolen bases, and sacrifice fly's from both Zingaro and Fowler.
