
Saints Softball Preview
The Santa Fe Softball team is set to open their season on January 24th.

The Saints open the 2025 campaign sitting at 6th in the FCSAA coaches' poll, after finishing 39-22 during the 2024 season. The team heads down to R.O.C. Park in Madeira Beach, Florida for a 4-game slate during the JUCO Kickoff Classic. Santa Fe will open the year against Georgia Military College at 12:30 PM EST on Friday January 24th.
Led by 4th year Head Coach Savanah Webster, the Saints hope to ride the bats of Madison Conway, Karris Rhine, and Alexis Daphney; who combined for 23 of the 54 Homeruns hit by the Saints in 2024 and were everyday contributors to the starting nine. As a team in 2024, Santa Fe hit .275 while holding their opponents to hit a mere .231. Additionally, the Saints tallied 104 more hits and outscored the opposition by 123 total runs.
After a 4th place finish in the Citrus Conference, Santa Fe hopes to replace All-FCSAA First Team pitcher Mallory Forrester with returner Ryleigh Bauer who posted a 2.42 ERA in 153.1 innings and struck out 109 batters.
There are 15 Newcomers for Santa Fe this season. Of that group, you might want to keep an eye on a couple players. Firstly, Brooke Markiewicz is a transfer from Hillsborough Community College who was a First Team All-Citrus Conference player and hit .392 with 58 hits last season. Belle Mancillas is a first-year player from Frostproof, Florida who held a 1.79 ERA and struck out 690 batters in her high school career
