
SF Extends Win Streak to Five
On Thursday afternoon, Santa Fe traveled to Florida State College at Jacksonville to play the Manta Rays in a non-conference doubleheader.

In game one, Santa Fe's pitching held FSCJ hitless, and the offense exploded for a 7-0 win. In the top of the first inning, the Saints came out swinging, scoring four runs. The bats went quiet till the fifth inning when the Saints added three more runs to take a 7-0 lead.
Ryleigh Bauer received the ball to start game one in the circle. Bauer threw her first no-hitter in her college career, going 7.0 innings, striking out seven, and walking three. At the dish, a trio of Saints had multi-hit games, including Brooke Markiewicz, McKenzie Jewell, and Olivia LaMeau. Jewell hit her second homerun on the season with a three-run homerun in the first inning. Alexis Daphney added two RBI in her solo at-bat in the fifth.
In game two, the Saints allowed the first and only run of the doubleheader in the first inning but rallied to win 12-1. FSCJ scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning but was shut down as SF scored twelve straight runs. The Saints did not score in bunches but were able to score one run in each of the second, third, and fifth innings. While scoring two runs in the fourth inning, three runs in the sixth inning, and four runs in the seventh inning to seal the win.
Santa Fe leaned on a three-hit game from Madison Conway as she drove in four runs. Karris Rhine went 2-4 on the day while driving in four runs and scoring one. Jewell hit homerun number two of the day and three of the year in game two of the doubleheader. Alexis Daphney received the start in the circle going 1.1 innings, allowing two hits and one run. Belle Mancillas replaced Daphny in the second inning. Mancillas went 4.2 innings and allowed two hits, striking out three batters. Ryleigh Bennet went 1.0 innings in the circle allowing a hit and walking one.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday at Tallahassee State College for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM.
